Travel Sketches and Monotypes from an Australian Icon

Bring the work of Margaret Olley into your home or office with this 2027 wall calendar from Blue Island Press. Each month has a box for every day, so you can record appointments, reminders and plans alongside her artwork.

Margaret Olley was the quintessential Australian artist, with universal appeal. She had a life-long romance with travel, and from the late 1940s to the early 1970s a sketchbook was almost always at hand to capture the scenes that presented themselves to her.

Her outdoor sketching sessions reveal a passion for the world around her, beyond the more familiar still life and interior subjects. The many sketches and monotypes she produced are her travel notes, and they are the notes of an artist as bold in her approach to her medium as she was to life itself.

Twin loop wire bound and hanging from the top, it's a practical calendar with a lively, personal feel.
